Sheila M. Pedersen

Sheila M. Pedersen, 56, of Jackson, Nebraska passed away Thursday, October 13, 2022 after a lengthy illness.  A memorial visitation will be Monday, October 24, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. with prayer service at 6:00 P.M. at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City.  

Sheila was born the daughter of Darrell Owen and JoAnne Barnes on July 27, 1966 in Sioux City, Iowa.  She was raised in Hinton and graduated from North High School in Sioux City.  Sheila married Fred Hewitt.  To this union a son Dacota was born and later a daughter, Autumn was adopted.  They divorced a short time later but remained very close until his death in 2005.  She later married Dale Pedersen in 2008.  They made their home in rural Jackson.

She was a talented artist, jeweler, and rock hound over the years.

Sheila enjoyed creating arts and crafts and also selling her work on the side.  She had a deep love for animals which included breeding Labrador dogs.  She listened to a wide range of Rock music, from Guns N’ Roses to Cat Stevens.  She was a woman of God who openly confessed her faith.   

Sheila is survived by her husband, Dale Pedersen of Jackson; children, Dacota (Stacy Arana) Hewitt of Elk Point, Montana (Wyatt) Weber of Sioux City, Colorado Kohl of Concord, and Autumn Hewitt of South Sioux City; mother, JoAnne (Richard) Jeffs; brother, Craig (Sue) Barnes of Sioux City and Kim (Mike) Amidei of Sioux city; and grandchildren, Dacota Jr., Isabella, Raivin, and Leon.

She was preceded in death by her father.
