Sherry Jenkins, 75, of Sioux City, died peacefully in her home on Monday, July 26, 2021.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 30, 2021 with a visitation one hour prior to service time at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences can be expressed at www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Sherry was born July 11,1946, in Hawarden, IA, to Guy and Edna (Mohlman) Boyles. She graduated from West Sioux High School and attended Western Iowa Tech. She found work at IBP/Tyson where she worked for 30 years until her retirement.
Her love for BritComs started 40 years ago, it grew into a fascination with the country, including downloading Google Earth so she could putts around the streets of England. In 2017, her children surprised her with a trip to England, in which she would say was the, “highlight of her life.”
She was an amazing artist, having an innate artistic ability that allowed her to excel at anything she tried her hand at. She dabbled in drawing, painting, sculpting, cake decorating, macrame, floral arrangements and many more.
She also had a love for the culinary arts. She loved to cook and bake for her family, especially during the holidays. Her door was always open to close friends; you could always find an “extra kid” at the dinner table. Her strawberry rhubarb pie was a family favorite.
Survivors include her children Lea (Shawn) Chaussee of Wynot, NE, Thad (Becky) Boyer of Sioux City, Desiree Jenkins of Sioux City; her grandchildren, Lucas, Jase and Ellie Boyer, Sophia Becerra, Skyler Jernberg; her brother, Darvin (Peggy) Boyles of Hawarden; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Ferrell and sister Betty; her good friends, Harriett Wood and Helen Dickson; and her beloved dog Zoe.
