Shirley L. Obermeyer

Shirley L. Obermeyer, 73, of Allen, NE passed away on Monday, December 11, 2017 at a local hospital.Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE.Shirley was born on September 16, 1944 in Waterbury, NE, the daughter of Wilbur and Geneva (Douthitt) VanCleave. She graduated from Laurel High School. She married Clayton Obermeyer, Sr. in Maskell, NE. They were blessed with five children and lived in Wakefield, Laurel and Allen. Shirley worked at various factory jobs.She enjoyed spending time with her children and grand-children and crocheting.Survivors include her children, Teresa (Dallas) Angle of Allen, NE, Clayton Obermeyer, Jr. of Laurel, NE, Ron (Lori) Obermeyer of Sioux Falls, SD, Elizabeth (Christopher) Swanger of Allen, NE; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and 1 more on the way; 2 sisters; 2 brothers; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Geneva VanCleave; a son, Joey; grandson, Douglas Moore, Jr.; 1 brother; 1 brother-in-law; and her significant other, Raymond Ellis.
