Stanley N. Navrude, Sr

November 9, 1938 — August 12, 2022

The family of Stanley Norris Navrude, Sr is sad to announce his passing on Friday, August 12 at the age of 83. He died peacefully in his home at Dakota Dunes after a brief illness.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is assisting with arrangements.

Stanley was born in Soldier, IA in 1938. He attended the University of Nebraska and went on to complete his Masters of Business Administration at the University of South Dakota. Stanley had a long and successful career in finance as a stock broker and Certified Financial Planner. He retired from Smith Barney in June, 2004. He was a First Vice President of his firm and active in the investment business since 1966.

Stanley was a civic leader in the Siouxland and Woodbury County area. He served as Chairman and Board of Directors for the Lutheran Services of Iowa. He was also a board member of Lutheran Social Services. He was an active member of First Lutheran Church of Sioux City serving as Vice President and other officer positions over the years.

Stanley loved his Corvettes and served as President of the Midwestern Corvette Society. He was very active in politics serving on the Woodbury County Republican Central Committee. Stanley had eight years of service in the Sioux City Air National Guard.

Stanley enjoyed spending time at his lake house on Okoboji and especially loved his time when his children, grandchildren and friends came for visits over the years.

Stanley was a proud father of his two children Stan, Jr and Joy and his grandchildren, Connor age 30, Spencer age 26 and Noel age 14.

Stanley enjoyed his time traveling the world, Norway being his favorite, but was always happy to come home to the place he called home, Sioux City.
