Steven F. Bevelhymer

Steven F. Bevelhymer, 55, of Ponca, NE passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 13, 2012 in rural Ponca, NE.Memorial services will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Ponca School Gymnasium in Ponca, NE. Visitation with the family present will begin at 5:00 P.M. on Friday at the school. Arrangements are under the direction of the Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca, NE. Online condolences to the family may be posted at www.mohrfuneralhome.com.Steve was born in Sioux City, Iowa on July 6, 1957, the son of William and Helen (Snowe) Bevelhymer. He grew up in Ponca and graduated from Ponca High School in 1976. He married Bonnie McGill on April 27, 1990. He worked for the City of Ponca for the past 15 years. The couple also did custodial work for the Ponca School for several years.He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ponca and was involved with the Highland Oakes Golf Course in rural Ponca. Steve enjoyed outdoor activities, and especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Bevelhymer of Ponca; his mother, Helen Bevelhymer of Ponca; children, Eric Bevelhymer and his fianc, Stacey Hanson of Ponca, Kristy (Justin) Wentzel of Arvada, CO; Christofer (Leanna) Bevelhymer of Wakefield, NE, Melissa (Andy) Millard of Jackson, NE, Luke McGill and his fianc, Rachel Pickner of Ponca; grandchildren, Faith, Dalton and Braden Wentzel, Trystan and Madison Bevelhymer, Garrett and Mackinze Millard; brother, Jim Bevelhymer of Ponca; and numerous nieces and nephews.Steve was preceded in death by his father, William Bevelhymer; sister, Lanell Bevelhymer Bobier; and brother-in-law, Robert Bobier.Casket bearers will be Don Schulte, Kevin Harder, Tony Stark, Brad Sorenson, John Stroud, Chris Kingsbury, Jeff Keller, Larry Lowe and Larry Buhl.
