Our beloved Steven E. Comstock fell asleep in death on October 27th, 2024.
Steve was born on December 30, 1956, to Merrill and Marie Comstock. He grew up in Crescent, IA with his 3 siblings, Karen Shaw (Randy Shaw) Vickie Dietrich (Bruce Dietrich), and Mark Comstock (Jan Comstock.) As a youngster, Steve loved to swim in the creek, work in his dad’s body shop and ride his motorcycle through the hills. He still had his 1st motorcycle from his teens.
In September 1981, Steve married his best friend, Sherry. They were inseparable for 43 happy years. He was a devoted and loving father to his children Mario Shipley (Rachelle Shipley), Sesilie Vinson (David Vinson) and Steven Comstock II. Steve loved his children deeply and never failed to express it to them. His children have many happy memories of Steve reading to them, playing tea party and working in the garage together. He adored his grandchildren, Kyndra, Ryan, Gavin, Joseph and River. Being together as a family was so important to Steve. He enjoyed taking his family camping and fishing.
Steve was known for his kindness, empathy, and soft-spoken nature. He was genuine, a true friend. He loved people and always wanted to help others.
Steve was a mechanic to the core, an "engine whisperer." There was nothing he couldn't fix, from heavy equipment to motorcycles. A skill that brought him much joy.
Steve was loyal to his God, Jehovah. His faith and conviction in the Bible's promises were clearly seen in his life. He loved to talk about all the ways Jehovah had helped and blessed him through the years. There was a true friendship between them. Steve knew his friend Jehovah would remember him and reward him with everlasting life on a paradise earth.
We will see Steve very soon, healthy and strong, those kind blue eyes looking back at us.
A memorial service celebrating Steve’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Onawa, Iowa. Meyer Brothers Funeral Homes in Sioux City is assisting with arrangements.
