Steven H. Maryott

Steven H. Maryott, 66, of South Sioux City, passed away, Monday, December 28, 2020.  A memorial visitation will be Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.  

Steven was born the son of Harold Lee and Joyce (Day) Maryott on November 9, 1954 in Pender, Nebraska.  He graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1973.  He lived most of his life in Siouxland.

Steven was a mechanic for the City of South Sioux City for ten years.  He also worked for Gateway for several years and then had a few odd jobs until his retirement.

Steven was a free spirit who enjoyed music, traveling, and nature.  He loved music.  It was his lifelong passion.  He was a lead singer who played several instruments including guitar, bass, and drums.  He enjoyed getting in the car and going for a drive maybe stopping at an antique or thrift store.  He enjoyed his trips to Colorado with his buddies.  He also loved rebuilding and tinkering with cars and watching football, always cheering for the Raiders and Huskers.

Steven is survived by his children, Steven L. Maryott of South Sioux City, Shane Cochran of South Sioux City, and Melissa Cochran of Sioux City; mother, Joyce Maryott of South Sioux City; brothers, Dan Maryott of Canton and Roger Maryott of South Sioux City; and grandchildren, Spencer Cochran and Kira Leone.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Lee.
