Steven “Steve” Davis, 66, of Sioux City, IA passed away on August 22, 2022 with his family by his side.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Burial with military honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. The family is encouraging everyone to dress casual for the service.
Steven Paul Davis, the son of Wayne and Mary (Enright) Davis, was born September 13, 1955 in Sioux City. He grew up in Sioux City and graduated from North High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Marines and served during the Vietnam era until his honorable discharge.
In 1979, Steve was united in marriage to Susan Wyant and this union was blessed with two daughters. Throughout his working years, Steve worked as a truck driver in the Sioux City area. He enjoyed making his home in the Leeds area. He loved spending time by his pool and visiting with his neighbors.
Steve’s hobbies included: gardening, caring for his flowers, old cars, and collecting Coors Original Beer Steins and shot glasses. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes and Minnesota Vikings fan. Above all, he enjoyed get-togethers and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his two daughters: Melissa “Missy” (Marcus) Roupe and Jenifer “Jeni” (Ryan) Beacom; mother of his children and life friend, Susan Davis; five grandchildren: Kyleigh Davis, Melonie Roupe, Braxton Davis, Adelynn Beacom, and Dilynn Roupe; five siblings: Ellen, Wayne (Michelle), Mary (Mike), Mickey (Gina), and Colleen (Quentin); three brothers-in-law: Verdell, Allen, and Rick; and several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings: Kathy, Susan, and Jimmy.
