Steven "Steve" D. Hesse

Steven Hesse, 68, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on November 20, 2024. 

Born in Manning, Iowa, and raised in Sioux City, Steve graduated from East High School. He grew up in a large and loving family with two sisters and five brothers. 

Steve married Paige Schenzel, and together they spent the past 33 years building a life filled with cherished memories. 

Steve dedicated much of his professional life to the Siouxland Regional Transit System, where he found immense fulfillment in his work. He especially took pride in helping transport some of Sioux City’s most inspiring children with developmental differences. 

What brought him the greatest pride and joy in life was his children. He was their biggest cheerleader, often sharing how proud he was of all they had accomplished and the wonderful people they had become. His children and grandchildren were a constant source of happiness, and he treasured time spent with them. 

Steve is survived by his wife Paige, children, numerous grandchildren, beloved parents, Dwayne and Virginia Hesse, along with his siblings. 

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 25, 2024, at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial will be at Westfork Township Cemetery in Climbing Hill. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
