Susan K. Anderson, 43, of Ponca passed away Monday, November 30, 2009 at a Sioux City hospital.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, December 4, 2009 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ponca, NE with Father David Liewer officiating. Burial will be in the Ponca City Cemetery in Ponca. Visitation will begin at the church on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 5:00 P.M., with the family present at 6:00 P.M. and a Scriptural Wake Service at 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca. Online condolences may be sent at www.mohrfuneralhome.com.Susan was born in Omaha, Nebraska on April 28, 1966, the daughter of Charles and Ione (Miller) Hughes. She grew up in Walnut, Iowa and graduated from Walnut High School in 1984. She then attended, and graduated from Southeast Community College in Lincoln, NE. She worked in the Omaha, NE, Storm Lake, IA and Sioux City IA areas as a medical secretary. Susan married Barry Anderson on February 20, 1999 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Martinsburg. The couple lived in rural Ponca, before moving to Fremont, NE with Barry's employment. They moved back to Ponca, NE in August, 2001.She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ponca, NE.Susan's family and friends were very important to her. She also enjoyed scrapbooking and gardening.Survivors include her parents, Charles and Ione Hughes of Walnut, IA; her husband, Barry of Ponca, NE; sons, Jacob and Joel Anderson of Ponca; brother, Doug & his wife, Marla Hughes and child, Erin of Atlantic, IA; sister, Barb and her husband, David Blum and children, Natasha, Stephanie, Danna and Gunnar of Walnut, IA; several aunts and uncles.Susan was preceded in death by her grandparents and one uncle.
