Susan K. Roberts

Susan K. Roberts, 64, of Ponca, Nebraska, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 19, 2017. Susan fought a courageous battle with cancer and passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family. The memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, March 24, 2017, at Salem Lutheran Church in Ponca, NE. Burial will be in Silver Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M., with the family present at 6:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca, NE.Susan was born on October 12, 1952, in Fremont, NE, the daughter of Earl and Velma (Petz) Wege. As a child, Susan enjoyed riding on her dad's shoulders and playing outside. She graduated from Ponca High School in 1970 and married her high school sweetheart, Terry, on April 16, 1971. They started their family in rural Ponca and were blessed with four children. She worked in the Dixon County Courthouse for 30 years.Susan was a devoted Christian and taught Sunday School for over 30 years and was a member of WELCA , the E-Team, and PEO. She enjoyed teaching God's word to all children and shared her faith with her family and friends. Susan was known for her kindness and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. The great loves of her life were her grandchildren.Survivors include her husband, Terry Roberts and parents, Earl and Velma Wege, all of Ponca, NE; 4 children, Shannon (Mark) Johnson and Nicki (Tom) Decker, all of Wakefield, NE, Gina Roberts of Sioux City, IA, and JD Roberts of Fort Dodge, IA; sisters, Linda Siebenborn of Sioux Falls, SD, Mary (Steve) Goodrich of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Aspen Rohan, Couy, Cade, Cael and Colt Johnson and Makenna and Bo Decker, and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by 2 infant children; 2 grandsons, Christian and Aiden Decker; mothers-in-law, Wilma and Bonnie Roberts; father-in-law, Kendall Roberts; and a nephew, Scott Siebenborn.In lieu of flowers, memorials in Susan's name will be donated to Salem Lutheran Church's Sunday School program and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
