Timothy J. Goodsell, 56, of Dakota City, NE passed away at a Sioux City hospital on Thursday, May 26, 2011.Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE with Rev. Joan Frenzel of Dakota City United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Dakota City Cemetery in Dakota City, NE, with military rites conducted by American Legion Post #307 and Dakota City Veterans' Service Officer. Visitation with the family present will be held at the funeral home from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, May 30, 2011. Online condolences may be posted at www.mohrfuneralhome.com.Tim was born in Sioux City, IA on July 28, 1954, the son of Tom and LaVonne (Luesebrink) Goodsell. He attended school in South Sioux City, NE. He then joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Hawaii, serving in the 25th Infantry. After the service he lived and worked in Houston, Texas and Akutan, Alaska until moving back to Dakota City, NE. Tim married Deb Gibbs in Dakota City, NE. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Wilson Redi Mix.Tim enjoyed puzzles, building model cars and gardening.Survivors include his mother, LaVonne Goodsell of Dakota City, NE; two children, Zach Goodsell of Vermillion, SD and Kelli Goodsell of Jackson, NE; one brother, Scott Goodsell of South Sioux City, NE; sisters, Lori Goodsell and her husband, Steve Ramey of Prairie Village, KS and Leslee Goodsell of Sergeant Bluff, IA; and one niece, Samantha Dean.Tim was preceded in death by his father, Tom Goodsell; and grandparents, Walter and Della Luesebrink of Homer, NE and Tony Goodsell of Dakota City, NE.
