Timothy L. Mahal

Timothy L. Mahal, 68, of Sioux City passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Sunnybrook Community Church. Visitation will be from 11-1 at the church. Pastor BJ Van Kalsbeek will officiate. Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Tim was born on April 19, 1953 in Wabasso, MN to Werner and Helen (Kretsch) Mahal. He grew up in Wabasso, and went on to attend Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA, where he graduated in 1975 with a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering. On June 30, 1979, Tim married Kathy Kenney in Wabasso, MN.

Following college, Tim worked for Robert L. Carr Company in Marshall, MN. He went on to work for Clyde Iron in Duluth, MN, and then for Wilson Trailer, Inc. in Sioux City, where he worked for over 30 years until his retirement in 2018.

Tim was a member of Sunnybrook Community Church with his wife, Kathy. He was active in Boy Scouts leadership roles, and enjoyed golfing, going to the shooting range, and listening to Beyonce and Adele in his spare time. He thoroughly enjoyed learning about military and war history. He loved his kids and grandkids with his whole heart, and was always a very proud Papa.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Mahal of Sioux City; his children: Matt Mahal (McKenzie) of Sioux Falls, SD; and Megan Gonzales (Anthony) of Lakenheath, UK; grandchildren: Tripp, Roslynn, and Magnolia Mahal, and Gabriel Gonzales; siblings: Richard Mahal (Fayanne) of Richland, WA; Chuck Mahal (Nina) of North Augusta, SC; and his twin, Tom Mahal (Liz) of Redwood Falls, MN; brothers-in-law: LaVerne Liebl of Wabasso, MN; and Lee Kenney of Hot Springs, AR; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Virginia; and his parents-in-law.
