Todd F. Gatz

Todd F. Gatz, 65, of South Sioux City, NE, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at his home. Services will be held at a later date.

Todd was born November 4, 1955 in Neligh, Nebraska to Fred and Bernetta (Buskirk) Gatz. He lived in Niobrara, NE, Verdigre, NE, South Sioux City, NE, O’Neil, NE, and Arizona until finally moving back to South Sioux City, NE when he retired. Todd had the kindest heart, he would give the shirt off of his back for anyone, especially those he loved and cared for. He truly adored his pet cat and spending time with family and friends. He loved to fish, enjoyed hunting, and going out on the river in the boat. He also enjoyed working on old muscle cars while running the family salvage yard & towing services. Todd worked as a roofer and as a commercial fisherman for many years until he retired.

Those left to honor his memory are his brothers, Tony Gatz (Robyn Dortch) (Marlene Gatz) of Winnebago, NE, Dusty (Cheryl) Ickler of Hubbard, NE, sister Theresy Brewer (Steve Roehr) of Hornick, IA; nieces and nephews, Miranda (Cyris) Twiford, Brittany Ickler (Robbie Horton), Drake Ickler, Taiah Ickler, Takira Ickler, Cheyenne Ickler, Lisa Brewer (Fred Tompkins), Michael (Karrisa) Munson, Austen Handke, Tommy Schlenz, and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Bernetta (Buskirk) Gatz; his wife, Ethyl Schlenz, and his younger brother, Teddy Gatz.
