Tommy R. Tanner, 40, of Sioux City passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel (3220 Stone Park Blvd.) in Sioux City. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Following burial, there will be a time of fellowship from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at P’s Pizza House in Dakota Dunes. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
Tommy Ray Tanner, the son of Leonard Ray and Patricia “Patti” J. (Johnson) Tanner, was born September 30, 1982 in Sioux City. Tommy grew up in Sioux City and graduated from North High in 2001. For the past 19 years, Tommy has worked at Keizer Refrigeration in Sioux City. He started his career as a technician and for the past several years has worked in sales.
On December 26, 2008, Tommy fell in love with his soulmate Jean Kratz and he welcomed her son Jevin into his life. Tommy and Jevin shared many interests and activities together. Tommy was a major influence in helping to make Jevin the man he is today.
Tommy and Jean shared many wonderful adventures together as they traveled to various vacation spots in the United States and around the world creating life time memories.
Tommy enjoyed tinkering in his garage which included refurbishing gas pumps and working on vehicles for friends and family. He also enjoyed classic cars and truly loved spending time at Miner’s Bend where he would bow fish. Tommy will be remembered for his infectious laugh, smile, and being the life of the party. Anyone that knew Tommy would say he played hard, worked hard, and loved hard.
He is survived by his wife Jean Kratz; son Jevin Kratz; mom Patti Tanner; brother Dusty (Melissa) Tanner; sister Becca (Chris Idso) Brinkman; nieces and nephews: Aspen, Madalen, and Landen and Kristian; stepmom Robin Tanner; his cousin Terry (Amy) Graves who was like a brother; and several other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his dad Leonard Tanner, brother Robert; maternal and paternal grandparents; and nephew Logan Boehmer.
