Urid Ruenprom

Urid Ruenprom, 78, of South Sioux City, NE passed away in Rochester, MN on Friday, August 9, 2013.Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 14, 2013, with a Celebration of Life Service 2:00 P.M. at the Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE.Urid was born in Denchai/Phrae, Thailand on July 13, 1935, the son of Wun and Aroon (Klangkham) Ruenprom. He attended school and was a college math teacher in Thailand. He married Somboon Panyasree in 1963. They moved to the United States in November, 1984. They lived in Lincoln, NE for six months before moving to South Sioux City, NE where Urid worked for IBP for fifteen years before he retired. After retirement he became an at home grandfather.He enjoyed gardening, reading and taking care of his grandchildren. He was an excellent cook.Survivors include his wife, Somboon Ruenprom; children, Roongravee (Matthew) Mogensen, Niramol Ruenprom-Ooi, Surang Ruenprom, Jutharatana Ruenprom, Thanya Ruenprom, and Santhi Ruenprom; ten grandchildren; five brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews.Urid was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
