Victor Paul "Vic" Beran, a longtime resident of Sioux City, IA, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at the age of 82. Victor, the son of Paul and Marcella "Sally" (Obert) Beran, was born on August 20, 1942, in Sioux City.

From a young age, Victor demonstrated a commendable work ethic, beginning his career in the grocery business at Lowe's Market. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to become the proud owner and operator of Vic's Market, where he served the community through locations in both South Sioux City and Sioux City. His commitment to service and hard work resonated with all who knew him.

Victor received his education in Sioux City, attending Sacred Heart Grade School and later graduating from Heelan High School. His faith was a cornerstone of his life; he was a devout Catholic who engaged in daily prayer and was particularly known for his commitment to praying the Rosary.

Outside of work, Victor enjoyed a range of hobbies that brought him joy, including fishing and an appreciation for Cadillac cars. He cherished time spent with family, particularly taking his parents to Polka dances and making trips back to Verdigre, NE, where he enjoyed bringing back the delicious homemade Kolaches loved by his family.

Victor is survived by two sisters, Judy Niebaum of Lawton, IA and Patricia Dostie of Chester, VA. He also leaves behind a loving extended family, including numerous nieces and nephews: Mike (Janet) Walsted, Sally (Billy) Johnson, Paulette (Randy) Courington, T.J. (Diann) Walsted, Dawn (Kyle) Hamman, Katie Walsted, Justin Walsted, Casey Walsted, Jeff (Shelly) Johnson, Kelly Johnson, Kylie (Connor) Johnson, and Kelsie Hamman.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Douglas Alan Niebaum.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Cathedral of the Epiphany, 1000 Douglas St, Sioux City, IA 51105, followed by a Mass at 10:00 AM at the same location. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
