Vincent F. Campbell

November 30, 1951 — November 27, 2022

Vincent F. Campbell, 70, of Axtell, NE, formerly of South Sioux City, NE, passed away November 27, 2022 at the Mosaic Home in Axtell, NE.  A funeral service will be held Friday, December 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery in South Sioux City, NE.  Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

 

Vincent was born on November 30, 1951 in Sioux City, IA to Vincent and Marjorie (Becker) Campbell.  He attended school in Sioux City.  In March of 1992 he moved to the Mosaic Home in Axtell, NE.  It was here that he made lifelong friends and liked looking out the window at birds.  He enjoyed swimming and participating in the Special Olympics, and watching all sports.  Vincent was especially close with his family.  He would watch football with his Dad and his Mom, who was his angel, took special care of him for many years.

 

Those left to honor his memory include his sisters: Denise (Gary) Hallstrom, South Sioux City, NE, Janet (Bob) Schones, Burkburnett, TX, Janice (Russ) Mogensen, South Sioux City, NE; nieces and nephews: Lacey Hallstrom, South Sioux City, NE, Dylan Hallstrom, Omaha, NE, Janelle (Ed) Stahr, Burkburnett, TX, Lanny Persinger, Arlington, TX, Vinny Persinger, Burkburnett, TX, Russ (Jodi) Mogensen, Sgt. Bluff, IA, Danelle (Craig) Fulton, Sioux City, IA, Brent (Carmen) Mogensen, Omaha, NE; caretakers Susan Potter and Jodi Niles of Axtell, NE.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Gary Persinger; and several aunts, uncles and grandparents.

 

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Susan Potter, Jodi Niles, and the rest of the staff at the Mosaic Home as well as the staff of Brookstone Hospice for all of the wonderful care they took of Vincent.
