Violet A. Knapp, 95, of Homer Nebraska passed away Friday July 6, 2018 at her home surround by her family. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday July 11, 2018 at Homer United Methodist church with Pastor Jaime J. Farias officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday July 10, 2018 from 4 till 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 till 8 p.m. and prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City, Nebraska. Violet Anne Knapp was born December 18, 1922 in Hinton, Iowa the daughter of William and Grace (Jones) Angove Jr. She married Orville H. Knapp September 4, 1947 in Hinton, Iowa. Orville, preceded her in death January 27, 2000 in Sioux City. The couple moved to Homer in 1951 where Mrs. Knapp raised her family as a home maker. Violet was a member of Homer United Methodist Church, a member of the Bonco Card Club and was an avid bowler. Mrs. Knapp is survived by her son: Edward (Audrey) Knapp of Sioux City; sister: Evelyn Trometer of Amarillo, TX.; three grandchildren: Melissa (Danny) Dierker, Edward Jr (Heather) Knapp, Jeremy (Promise) Knapp 11 great grandchildren: Will (Emma), Lindsey, Bradley (Telsa), Kayla, Jasper, Evan, Gage, Chris, McKinzie, Ashlyn and Camron, Three great-great grandchildren: Boston, Daunte and Ace. She was preceded in death by her husband, three sons: Ronnie, Dennis, Lawrence; seven brothers; three sisters.
