Virginia Skouge Livermore passed away on April 14, 2021 in Greeley, Colorado. She was born in Huron, SD on March 9, 1928 to Marvel and Gilbert Dahl. After graduating from Dawson Minnesota High School, Virginia moved to Sioux City where a cute sailor caught her eye at St. John Lutheran Church. She married Bernard “Bill” Forseth Skouge on March 20, 1948. Bill passed away after more than thirty years of marriage and five children. Several years later she married Wayne Livermore and they spent a decade traveling and enjoying the many grandchildren between them.

Virginia retired from the Sioux City Water Department and then spent many years volunteering for organizations like the Sioux City Women’s Shelter and the Senior Center Chorus. Her heart and life always centered around St. John Lutheran Church and the many circles, couple’s club, church hospitality, and the choir where her beautiful voice was valued for decades.

Virginia is survived by her children, Jane (Larry), Paul (Debbie), Susan (Gary), Tom (Nancy), Charles Connell, her son-in-law, and her sister, Carol Johnson. She leaves to celebrate her life eleven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Virginia was predeceased by her husbands, Bill and Wayne, her daughter, Elizabeth Connell, and her grandson, Charles Brian Turk.

Virginia’s family would like to thank the wonderful care provided to her by the kind and loving staff at the Greeley Village and Bristol Hospice.

Memorial donations in Virginia’s name may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church and to the Food Bank of Siouxland.
