Virginia Lynn Thompson, 55 of Sioux City, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at her residence after a courageous battle against cancer, comforted by her parents. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Interment will be in Colorado at a later date. Virginia grew up in Sioux City and gained her Associates Nursing Degree from WIT. She was a Registered Nurse, who specialized in mental health and addictions. Virginia was a spiritual mentor, an amateur painter, a collector of crystals and plants, and was a published author. She loved her work, family and friends. Virginia traveled, took up photography and saw life as an adventure. “DreamWeavers” of Omaha gave Virginia a three day trip to Kansas City on December 5th of this year. She was a very thoughtful person, and had already done her Christmas shopping for this year.
In the past 12 months, Virginia had Auto Immune Bone Marrow Failure, which led to her passing. She had lived in Lincoln, Nebraska for the past 15 years. Virginia was a spiritual Mentor and wrote a published book “The Beginners Handbook to the Art of Guided Imagery”. She also officiated at weddings and spoke at funerals.
Virginia is survived by her daughters Sadie Thompson (Lewis) and Alex Goodier (Cody) and grandson Declan, all of Lincoln; parents Terry and Maureen Fisher of Sioux City; brother Nathan Fisher of Sioux City; sister Misty Weldon of California; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by her brother Matthew Fisher in 2018.
