William "Bill" J. Enders

William J. "Bill" Enders, 79, of rural Ponca, NE passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the Elms Health Care Center in Ponca.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, January 18, 2016 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ponca, NE with Rev. Andrew Sohm officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation with the family present will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., with a scriptural wake service at 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at the church. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service on Monday.Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca.Bill was born on April 11, 1936 in rural Ponca, NE, the son of Darrel and Josephine (Rush) Enders. He graduated from Ponca Public High School in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army for two years, including one year in Ingrandese, France. After the service, he farmed with his dad. Bill married Sheila Buckley on February 1, 1964 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Maurice, Iowa. The couple continued to farm until his retirement.He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and enjoyed farming and raising livestock.Survivors include his wife, Sheila Enders of Ponca, NE; one son, Dan (Mary) Enders of Des Moines, IA; a sister, Betty Jamieson of Denver, CO; a brother, Richard (Darlene) Enders of Colorado Springs, CO; and several nieces and nephews.Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Darrel and Josephine Enders; a brother, Paul Enders; and a brother-in-law, Robert Jamieson.In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to Ponca Fire and Rescue or St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
