William “Bill” VanDyke, 77, of Sioux City, IA, passed away April 12, 2022. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 16th at 12:00 p.m. at Sunnybrook Community Church. Bill was born on June 14, 1944 in Sibley, IA to Albert and Lois (Hall) VanDyke. He graduated from Sheldon High School and Northwestern College in Orange City, IA. He was united in marriage to Esther Koerselman on June 17, 1967 in George, IA. Bill was strong in his faith and was a group leader at Sunnybrook Community Church. He was a board member of several different organizations including: Hope Ministries, Vantage Point 3, and several denominational organizations. His favorite pastime was fishing and telling stories with family and friends. Bill loved his family and grandchildren. He especially loved attending his grandkids sporting, school and music events.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Esther VanDyke, Sioux City, IA; sons: Doyle and Jennifer VanDyke, South Sioux City, NE, Neal and Kara VanDyke, Apple Valley, MN; grandchildren: Abigail, Alexa, Emma and Will; sister, Margaret and Bob Morrissey, Ottumwa, IA; brother, John and Joyce VanDyke, Dayton, OH; sister-in-law, Jane VanDyke, Homer Glen, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard “Dick” VanDyke.
