William Howard “Bill” Wilshire, 72, of Sioux City, IA passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022 at his residence.
A private family celebration of life will be held. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
William Howard “Bill” Wilshire, the son of Howard and Helen (Theison) Wilshire, was born February 23, 1950 in Sioux City. Bill grew up in Sioux City and he attended Central High School.
Over the years, Bill operated several different businesses. He took great pride in his shoe repair business.
In May of 1976, Bill was united in marriage to Judy Penning. Together, they raised two children and they made their home in Sioux City. Bill and Judy later divorced but remained close friends. Recently, he rekindled a high school relationship with JoAn “Jo” Schlotman.
Bill’s hobbies included playing softball, bowling, and he truly loved playing Trivial Pursuit.
He is survived by his special friend, JoAn “Jo” Schlotman of Sioux City; his daughter, Tammy (Martin) Dalcourt of South Sioux City, NE; his son, Jason (Holly) Wilshire of Bondurant, IA; seven grandchildren: Michael (Ashlie) Jepsen, Darin (Kortney) Jepsen, Christian (Kiely) Jepsen, Domenic (Kelsie) Dalcourt, Dante (Emy) Dalcourt, Breanna Wilshire, and Dakota Wilshire; eight great grandchildren: Logan, Rain, Addyson, Meadow, Ryleigh, Liam, Elliot, and Jack. In addition, he is survived by four siblings: Howard (Marty) Wilshire, Linda (Pat) Hall, Helen (Terry) Taylor, and Cindy (Randy) Underwood; one sister-in-law, Debi Eik; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; former wife, Judy Wilshire; daughter, Jillian Wilshire; grandson, Jordan Jepsen; and three siblings: Jean (Jim) Dawdy, Dennis Wilshire, and Debbie Wilshire.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
