William Earl Goodman (Bill) 71 of Sioux City, Iowa formerly of Monroe Mi passed away on July 23, 2022 due to complications of Agent Orange.
Bill is the son of Donald and Jaqueline Goodman, born November 4, 1950 in Highland Park, Mi. Graduated from Monroe Catholic Central High School. Bill joined the US Army in 1969 and made a career in the Army doing two tours in Vietnam. Bill married Mary Louise Gianino March 29,1974 at St. Johns Catholic Church Monroe, Mi. They had two sons Bill and Geoff. Bills career in the Army took the family to Germany, Texas, Georgia and Kentucky. While serving his Country.
Bill was proud of his Military career, he was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars post 1138 and VVA Chapter 142. He was involved in bringing the traveling wall to Heck Park for the VVA Chapter 142. Bill and Mary authored (1978) Season of the Storm, men and women of Monroe County that lost their lives during the Vietnam War. Bill made friends where ever he was, he would strike up a conversation with a stranger and end up being friends. He loved to fish. Had them cleaned and package only to give to friends for fish fries. Perch and Bluegill were his favorites. Bill spent many hours at Flat Rock speedway in Michigan. When he moved to Iowa he sponsored a young race team they won a trophy last season.
Bill is survived by his Sisters, Cindy (Bill) Degnan, Sun City Center, Fl. Janet (Frank) Sottile of LaSalle, Mi. Brother David (Carol) Goodman of Mio, Mi. Sister in law Diane (Mike) Goodman, daughter in law Stephanie Goodman, Dakota Dunes, Iowa and three Grandchildren. His best friend and companion, Kathy Larrow and several nephews and nieces.

Bill was proceeded in death by his Grandparents, Parents, Wife Mary and two sons Bill and Geoff, and his Brothers Thomas and Michael.
Interment will take place September 12, 2022. 12:30 P:M: at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly Mi. with Military Honors.
