William J. Parrott, 67, of South Sioux City, NE passed away on Monday, October 11, 2010 at a Sioux City hospital.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at the Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE with Don Wood, CLS officiating. Burial will be in the Dakota City Cemetery in Dakota City, NE. Visitation with the family present will begin at 6:00 P.M., with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent at www.mohrfuneralhome.com.William was born in Cherokee, IA on July 2, 1943, the son of Gaylen and Arlene (Mummert) Parrott. He graduated from Aurelia High School in 1961. He graduated from Morningside College, and earned his master's degree from U.S.D. He married Connie Mlady in Cherokee, IA on August 17, 1963. He was a science teacher in Ponca, NE, and a principal at Emerson-Hubbard High School in Emerson, NE and Winnebago Public School in Winnebago, NE, before teaching Solar Energy Technology at W.I.T. in Sioux City. William married Carolyn Medbourn on July 5, 1985 in South Sioux City, NE.William loved spending time with his grandchildren. He also liked to watch John Wayne cowboy movies and play on the computer.Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Parrott of South Sioux City, NE; children, David William Parrott and Debbie Ann Parrott of Sioux City, IA; step-children, Ralph (Jeanne) Medbourn of Onawa, IA, Jamy Medbourn of South Sioux City, NE, Stewart (Becky) Medbourn of Sioux City, IA and Paula (Leo) Eickholt of Sioux City, IA; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Judy (Alan) Schildkraut of Brooklyn, NY; niece and nephew, Jessica Schildkraut-Peled of Brooklyn, NY and Mark Bleil of Virginia; and longtime friend and business partner, Elzie Schoepf of South Sioux City, NE.William was preceded in death by his parents, Gaylen and Arlene Parrott.
