Christopher J. Holsinger

Christopher J. Holsinger, 42 of Sioux City sadly and unexpectedly left us of natural causes on Friday, December 23, 2022.  A memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. 

Chris was born on March 2, 1980 to Scott and Dawn (Davis) Holsinger in Sioux City, Iowa.  He grew up in Sioux City and graduated from West High School in 1998.  Chris loved to play baseball and excelled as a left-handed pitcher.  Following graduation, Chris served in the Army National Guard as a Cavalry Scout with the 113^th Cavalry.  Chris married Tanya Schmoll on April 1, 2022.  This union brought together their two beloved dogs, Bella and Luna.  Chris had many different welding jobs over the years.  He currently worked on the concrete crew for the City of Sioux City where he planned to work until his retirement. 

Chris was a stranger to no one.  He had a passion for cars and enjoyed watching his friends race.  He also enjoyed being a Papa.  Chris will especially be remembered for his vivid story telling. 

Chris is survived by his wife, Tanya Holsinger; two daughters, Alexandria Shoultz (Tyler) and Madison Lepley; step-son, Tayvin Schmoll (Loren); grandchildren, Kynley and Ellie Mae; mother, Dawn Holsinger; step-mother, Sharon Holsinger; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Scott Holsinger; and grandparents, Stanley and Phyllis Davis, Wilhemetta Jernberg, Toas Warnstadt, and Florence Lundgren Warnstadt.
