Diane M. Nelsen

Diane M. Harris-Nelsen, 75, of rural Homer/Emerson, NE, passed away surrounded by her family on August 28, 2022.  A funeral service will be held Friday, September 2^nd at 1:00 p.m. at River Hills Church in South Sioux City, NE.  Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. all at the church.  Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.  Burial will be at Omaha Valley Cemetery in Homer, NE.  Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Diane was born on December 7, 1946 in Sioux City IA, to Harold and Nadine (Georgesen) Harris. She lived several years in the rural Homer, NE area and graduated from Homer High School in 1965. Diane married Jon David Nelsen December 10, 1965. Together they lived on the same farm in rural Homer/Emerson area since marriage. Diane was employed by Joe Morton Insurance Co. for several years. She enjoyed making many wedding, birthday and anniversary cakes. She worked with children at Little Tykes Preschool & Childcare LLC, South Sioux City NE, from 1995-2015.  It was co-owned by Diane, her husband Jon David and daughter Rochelle.

Diane is survived by husband Jon David; son, Rick (Madonna) Nelsen, and their extended family of rural Homer/Emerson, NE; daughter, Rochelle Nelsen of South Sioux City, NE; grandson, Derrick (Melissa) Nelsen of George, IA; granddaughter, Rianne Nelsen of South Sioux City, NE and great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Nelsen of George, IA.

Diane is preceded in death by her parents.
