Jane F. Ward, 85, of Sioux City, IA passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at her residence in Sioux City. Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m., Friday, September 23, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Augustana Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com

Jane was born August 28, 1937 in Sioux City to Herbert and Frances (Berke) Johnson. She lived in Sioux City all her life, graduating from Central High in January of 1956. She worked for Travelers Insurance Co. for five years, then stayed home until 1974. At that time, she began working at Leeds Jr. High as a lunchroom manager. After three years she became manager of the Central Kitchen for the school district, retiring in January of 2000. Jane was married to John E. (Jack) Ward on December 18, 1959. They had two children, John (Kristi) Ward and Jackie (Kevin) Viken. They were blessed with four grandchildren, Garett (Bugsy) Viken, Brianne (Matt) Anderson, Austin (Tisha Reyes) Ward and Sydnee Ward along with three great-grandchildren, Novalea, Brandy and Layliana. She was a long-time member of Augustana Lutheran Church. Jane was an avid reader and fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and N.F.L Minnesota Vikings.
She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one brother, Donald B. Johnson of Mesa, AZ and nephew Scott Atkinson of Des Moines, IA.
She was preceded in death by her husband John E. (Jack) Ward, on October 7, 2020, and her twin sister, Janice Campbell of Des Moines, IA on March 28, 2021.
