William "Bill" Steele

   William Joseph “Bill” Steele, 63, of Sioux City, IA passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at his residence.

   Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Sioux City Baptist Church (3222 Pawnee Place) in Sioux City with Pastor Quentin Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. with a remembrance service at 7 p.m. Monday, September 12, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel (3220 Stone Park Blvd.) in Sioux City.

   William Joseph “Bill”, the son of William Edward and Dolores (Broderson) Steele, was born June 30, 1959 in Sioux City, IA. Bill’s childhood years, were spent between Sioux City and North Carolina. He attended West High School in Sioux City.

   At age 23, Bill met Cynthia “Cindy” Orr and they were married on November 9, 1984 in Elk Point, SD. This union was blessed with two children, Joe and Christina, and the family made their home in Sioux City. Bill worked at Palmer Candy then worked nights in the cleaning department at John Morrell until he was unable to work due to health issues.

   Throughout the years, Bill had many hobbies that kept him busy. He enjoyed spending time at the lake house, fishing, working on cars, gardening, cooking, watching television shows, and going to flee markets. He loved music and especially enjoyed attending the George Jones concert. He was a member of Sioux City Baptist Church.

   He is survived by his wife, Cindy Steele of Sioux City; son, Joe Steele of Sioux City; daughter, Christina (Emil Sr.) Witzka of Sioux City; eight grandchildren: Max, Emmalynn, Gracie Mae, Cailyn, Cloey, Emil Jr., Ciara, and Cara; his mother, Dolores Steele of North Carolina; two brothers: Mark (Gabby) Steele of Sioux City and David (Shelly) Steele of North Carolina; two sisters: Kim (David) Richardson of North Carolina and Kelly (Don) Demaree of North Carolina; and many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

   He was preceded in death by his father, William Edward Steele; one brother in infancy; and two sisters: Amy Full and Patricia Jasmanie.
